A butterfly is a very thin object. It would be one of the best obejects to test the depth of field.

I wondered how I could take photos like this. A fast lens and a good background are necessary.

Front brakes sticked.

During the last APS March Meeting, I heard a kind of grinding noises from my car. I didn't feel fine when I engaged the brake pedal, and all the noises and feelings were gone when the car stopped. Mechanic at an MIDAS told me that front brakes sticked and replaced pads, rotors, and calipers. In fact, the pads and rotors were new ones replaced on last December!

I was told that there could be a mistake in bleeding the brake system. If brake fluid absorbs moisture from the air, it may cause damages to the brake system. I hope this wouldn't be a problem any more.

Shift lever

A few days after I had told to change catalytic converters, the failure of which caused the check engine light turned on, I noticed a problem with a shift lever. Usually, it is supposed to return back to the center when it is on neutral, but it didn't when it was pulled to the left. The reason was that the spring of #17 in the above illustration (from Haynes Repair Manual) didn't function properly. After I visited two auto services and was told to postpone the repair until a real big problem on the transmission happened, I could fixed the problem at a transmission service very easily. Just a new spring was installed. I was able to see the new spring shining when my car was raised in MIDAS, where I visited to make the wheel alignment.
